As a Civilian, Ms. Kops Korner has attended several Citizens' Police Academies. She has been on numerous ride alongs with the men and women of local law enforcement and has learned novice skills in firearm safety and firing expertise. She has gained knowledge in the areas of combat tactics, drug awareness and identification, homicide and autopsy, cyber space crimes, good detective work, and much more!
Ms. Kops Korner has had the opportunity to interview many men and women in law enforcement to learn about the Officers as individuals, their experiences, concerns and fears. Having established an earlier relationship with local law enforcement as a civilian supporter, has given her a better understanding of the importance of Homeland Security in her role as a U. S. Officer. She has a great deal of respect for LEOs!
Ms. Kops Korner is as a U. S. Officer for the Department of Homeland Security. She enjoys work, serving the general public in helping to keep civilians safe, as well as interacting with local Law Enforcement. She looks forward to furthering her knowledge and pursuing a life-long career with the United States Department of Homeland Security.
As an Officer, Ms. Kops Korner enjoys the aspect of learning about security on a national level, she enjoys the investigative part, observation and people awareness, conducting threat searches, and learning about hazardous materials, biochemical and everyday threats to public safety and security, and how to prevent them.
Extensive and continual training commands a huge part of one's life in being a U. S. Officer, and the responsibility of being an Officer is equally matched by the intense training. She is very proud to serve in this capacity and looks forward to making an everyday difference in the Nation's Homeland Security.
